Have welcome headers improved your registrations?

Has anyone using welcome headers actually noticed a jump in registrations or guest to member conversion?

I've got a tracker on my welcome images for 2 different vBulletin versions to track how many people click there and so far its not impressive at all.

I've tried mutliple different images there and text on the images. I've roatated them on one site to be different every page load and still not anything noticeable. I'd like to see if this modification is making any difference for anyone else, or if its just working for certain niche sites.
